This trip will take you to Murchison Falls National Park. The park hosts over 451 bird species and 76 mammal species and is bisected by the Victoria Nile to form the Northern and Southern banks. The highlight of your trip will include sightings of different bird species for example the Greater Blue Turracco and the rare Shoebill stork among other species. Game drives are so rewarding and boat cruise do not miss out as well in this beautiful savannah park.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After an early breakfast, you will be briefed by the guide about the 3 days safari. You will then set off from your hotel as you embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will pass through Luwero town before having a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arrival, you will meet the site guide and get a briefing before heading to the bush in search of the rhinos. The tracking will take approximately 3 hours. Have lunch before proceeding with our journey to Masindi town.
You will proceed to the park and visit the top of the falls. This site gives spectacular views of some parts of the park as well as Murchison falls. You will take photos and proceed to the lodge for check-in, relaxation and overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise
Wake up early, have breakfast and set off by 6:00am for the game drive. The drive gives possibilities of catching the early risers and big cats in action before they retire to their havens. Other animals you will see during the drive include Lake Chad buffaloes, African elephants, Lelwel’s hartebeest, Nubian giraffes, oribis among other species. Common bird species include the Goliath heron, African skimmer and the Red-throated bee eater. Have lunch.
Shortly after lunch, head for a launch cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. This water safari will expose you to schools of hippos, Nile crocodile busking by the river side and different bird species and other wildlife drinking water at the shores. Depending on the fatigue, you can choose to head back to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala
Wake up and have breakfast at leisure. Shortly check-out from the lodge. After the thrilling experience in Murchison Falls National Park, you will continue your journey to Kampala. Your journey to Kampala will take approximately 6 hours. You will have lunch in either Masindi town or Luwero. After lunch, proceed to Kampala.
