This 12 days safari will give you an opportunity to experience the scenery, nature and wildlife of Uganda. Start with the beautiful Murchison falls national park. Continue to the primate capital of the world – Kibale national park which is home to 13 primate species with the main attraction being chimpanzees. You will visit Queen Elizabeth national park and continue to Bwindi impenetrable national park for gorilla trekking experience ending with Lake Mburo national park.

Day 1: Arrival

Your 12 days Uganda safari begins on this day with your arrival at Entebbe International Airport where you will be welcomed to Uganda by a company representative. You will then be transferred to your hotel where you can have dinner depending on arrival time.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park

Have an early breakfast and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. The journey is a magical adventure with short stopovers. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. After this experience, proceed to your lodge for the night.

Day 3: Game drive and Boat Safari

Murchison Falls National park is the biggest in Uganda and offers fulfilling game viewing. The game drives start early morning right after breakfast which increases the chances of sighting different animals especially the predators that tend to go into hiding during the heat of the day. The game drive happens in the northern bank of River Nile, where we look out for giraffes, elephants, hartebeest, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions and different bird species.

In the after-noon, the safari will continue on River Nile – Nile boat safari towards the mighty Murchison falls. The relaxed boat safari provides more opportunities for spotting a variety of animals and birds and falls from. You have an opportunity to watch the falls from below or even hike up to the ‘top of the falls’.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale forest

Today morning after breakfast your driver guide will start the journey to Kibale national park known as the Primate capital of the World. The drive is through Uganda’s countryside with a stopover for lunch. You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon for overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Village Walk

Today after breakfast you embark on the chimpanzee trekking activity, chimpanzees share 97% of man’s DNA and are referred to as man’s closest relatives. The trek starts with a briefing from your ranger guide about your chimpanzee trek. This experience offers you an opportunity to view these primates in their natural habitat. After locating the chimpanzees, you are allowed to spend one hour watching them.

In the afternoon, take a walk in the Bigodi community and interact with the locals. Get a coffee experience, banana beer making experience, basketry and listen from the medicine man about how he deals with different diseases.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Today after a late breakfast you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park – the medley of wonders via the crater lakes region depending on the road condition. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Uganda with sighting of the Mountain of the moon as a you drive to the park.

You will either have a picnic lunch or lunch at the lodge.

Day 7: Game drive and Boat Safari

After your breakfast you will go for a game drive, look out for elephants, water bucks, and also look out for the elusive leopards and lions. This offers an excellent opportunity for photography moments during the game drive and opportunity to watch the animals feed and stroll in the national park.

In the afternoon you will take a relaxing boat ride on Kazinga Channel, you will have an opportunity to view different species of birds on the banks, hippos, crocodiles and many other experiences.

Day 8: Transfer to Ishasha Sector for tree-climbing lions

After your breakfast you will transfer to the Ishasha sector famously known for the tree-climbing lions. There are many theories as to why the Lions in this area like to climb the fig trees which have enormous branches. Some claim is for rest after having their meals, others say it is to easily watch their prey because of the high savanna grass.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Bwindi impenetrable National Park is home to numerous bird species (with 23 of Uganda’s 24 Albertine rift endemics), butterflies, primates and mammals. As you travel enjoy the beautiful scenery to get a real feel of Uganda and enjoy the terraced hills of Kigezi highlands.

Day 10: Trekking Mountain Gorillas

Today you will hike through the impenetrable forest in search of the endangered mountain Gorillas. After briefing from the ranger guide you start your hike into the forest, however some Gorilla groups are away from the briefing point so your guide will drive you to starting point. Enjoy the day in the impenetrable forest, you have up to one hour with the gorillas once you locate them. You are advised to keep reasonable silence while watching them.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park and Nature walk

This morning your driver guide will transfer you to the tranquil Lake Mburo national park which is the smallest of the savannah national parks in Uganda. You will have stopover for lunch and pictures of landscape depending on your interest. On arrival at the park you can choose to have a short game drive or check in and relax in your lodge.

Day 12: Departure

Today marks the end of your 12 days Uganda safari. You will be transferred to Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
